A week or so ago, I posted about why SaaS should be concerned: with AI, anyone can build exactly what they need. The old question of "Is it our core competency?" is fading, because a developer can now build a custom solution instead of paying per seat, per month.
In my mind, this will hit small and medium businesses harder than large enterprises — SMBs stand to gain the most by replacing SaaS subscriptions with purpose-built tools, while large companies have the budget to absorb those costs either way.
Mark Cuban recently touched on the same idea from a different angle.

Software may have eaten the world, but AI is eating software. At least the industry.
